Gunnar Jensen

I was born in 1954 in a small town in the north of Denmark. After finishing high school I took a 1 year IT education and then I did my military service (9 month at that time). Then I was working 2 years with a company of Chartered Accountants to learn about economy and I studied some business administration in the evenings as well.

From 1978 until 2005 I was working in various IT companies (the last 23 years in sales). I spent 11 years with the German company Siemens and the last 6 years in my IT career with the American company StorageTek.

In 1980 I met my wife Roxana from Mexico. We lived 2 years in Mexico but moved to Denmark in January 1983. We just celebrated our silver wedding and we have two daughters Kathrin (recently changed her name from Olga), who is 23 and Anne who is 19.

Since my childhood I have always been interested in the big existential questions: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? How do we comprehend eternity? How can anything be without a starting and an end? What happens when we die? Is there a meaning with our life? If yes what might that be? Etc…

My years in the IT sales were never a real interest – just a way to make a living. Already 20 years ago I promised myself that by the age of 50 I would not be a sales person anymore. It is a tough job and I had older colleagues that had been good earlier but certainly were not anymore.

So by the age of 50 I resigned my job with StorageTek in order to make a living as a full-time author together with speaking and education activities. I finished the book “WHAT IF …?” which I had started 2½ years earlier and I self-published the book in 4 different languages (English, Spanish, German and Danish).

I read a lot of books and I my wife and I both enjoy traveling as well as playing golf is our big passion.
