With Anthony Asadullah Samad
Anthony Asadullah Samad is an Associate Professor of Political Science and African American Studies at East Los Angeles College, and is President of Samad and Associates, an urban affairs strategic planning firm that specializes in the assessment and management of public policy, economic development, urban, social and race issues. His firm maintains a national portfolio of public agencies, not for profit social service groups, civil and employee rights groups looking to manage growth, cooperation and conflict in diversely populated communities. Samad's 15-year consulting efforts have generated over $300 million in economic development opportunities in urban and rural communities nationwide.
For the past 13 years, Samad has published an award winning weekly editorial commentary that contributes to over 100 newspapers and cyber websites nationwide. Samad has received over 150 awards and recognitions for his community advocacy work. Mr. Samad has a Masters of Arts Degree in Public Administration (M.PS. Public Finance Specialization) from the University of Southern California, a second Masters of Arts in Political Economy (MAPE Degree from Claremont Graduate University and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in political science at Claremont Graduate University's School of Politics and Economics. Samad's doctoral emphasis focuses on American Politics and comparative study of 19th and 20th Century race politics (social construction) in its relationship to American public policy.
Samad is the author of two books; Souls For Sale: The Diary of An Ex-Colored Man (Kabili Press, 2002), and his upcoming release, 50 Years After Brown: The State of Black Equality In America (Kabili Press, February, 2005). He and his family reside in Southern California.
